Kwazulu Natal is a beautiful and historic part of South Africa, ranging from Durban Beach, famous as a surfing venue, to the mountain resorts of the Drakensburg which hug up against the boarder of the Kingdom of Lesotho. The Natal Parks Board has long been recognized as being at the forefront of wildlife conservation, and have been leaders in the effort to protect the rhinoceros. These parks are excellent value offering a range of accommodations for those wishing a first-class wildlife experience as part of their visit to Durban. For history buffs we offer tours of sites of  Zulu battles and battles in the Anglo-Boer War.

Ndumo Camp - Luxury tented camp surrounded by fever trees at Bonzi Pan just of the Mozambique border. One of South Africa's oldest and most scenic parks, Ndumo has excellent birding as well as black and white rhino, hippo, giraffe, and nyala antelope. 
 

Rocktail Bay Lodge - South Africa's most secluded coastal lodge, situated just meters from the Indian Ocean in the Maputaland Coastal Forest Reserve and adjoining the Maputaland Marine Reserve. Enjoy strolls along deserted beaches, drives to secluded bays along the coast and to nearby hippo pools, excellent fishing from rocky points, or walks in search of elusive forest birds. A number of exciting localities are in the vicinity and can be visited on day excursions. Snorkeling in the warm clear waters of the Indian Ocean is one of the highlights. Natal Parks Board [map]:

The Natal Parks Board has been at the center of the conservation effort for most of the 20th century, operating several famous parks and reserves in Kwazulu Natal. They offer a range of affordable accommodations and activities in the parks.

Accommodations range from mountain hunts, tented bush camps and well appointed lodges in the Natal Parks. Prices range generally from $25 to $40 per person per night. 

Wilderness Trails (2 - 4 nights, $70 - $200 pp) available in St. Lucia, Mfolozi, Mkuzi, and Drakensburg.
