SOUTH AFRICA

With a centuries long tradition of hospitality, South Africa combines a cosmopolitan atmosphere, world class hotels and services and leadership in the scientific management of ecology and wildlife to make this one of the finest travel destinations in the world.  Year in and year out a number of South Africa's hotels, resorts and game lodges rank in the top 10 international rankings by Conde Nast Traveler and Travel and Leisure Magazine as well as winning other prestigious travel awards.  Included among these are Mala Mala, Singita, Londolozi, Tswalu, The Table Bay Hotel, the Cape Grace, and Palace of the Lost City, and the Saxon.  Many of the better known hotels and lodges members of  prestigious organizations included Relais and Chateaux, Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Leading Hotels of the World

Johannesburg including Soweto is one of the leading centers of art, music, and business in the world.  The Cape Province boasts some of the world's finest restaurants and vineyards producing wines of a heritage that rivals the finest of European production. The Garden Route between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth includes beautiful scenery, wildlife, and hotels.

The country's private wildlife reserves are among Africa's largest and certainly the best managed with large numbers of  predators and fabulously varied and beautiful antelope.  The Kwazulu-Natal Parks have been the source for reintroducing black and white rhino into Africa.  While we typically recommend a trip to Botswana for wildlife viewing becuase of its remoteness if you have the time, a few days at a South African reserve should not be missed if you have limited time in the region.
