| RUCKOMECHI
on the western boundary of Mana
Pools National Park has been recognized year after year as Zimbabwe's
finest safari lodge. Elephant and buffalo wander past the thatched chalets
and the bar lounge, a deck structure where guests relax at sunset. The
bar, lounge, and open air dining room are situated on the river edge, facing
beautiful hills on the Zambian side of the river.
Ruckomechi Camp overlooks the Zambezi River set in the shade of a grove of acacia trees. The camp accommodates a maximum of 20 clients in 10 thatched chalets. The
Camp offers the following activities:
GIRAFFE SPRINGS 's overlooks a water hole on a private concession at Hwange National Park. Accommodation in ten en suite luxury tents. This is one of Africa's finest game reserves, and there is little in the way of game that is not plentiful in this park. It is one of the few places where there is a good likelihood of seeing rhino.

This is s small camp of floating chalets mored in a secluded bay of Lake Kariba at the Matusadona National Park. Each chalet has its own verandah along with ensuite facilities. A "mother ship" houses the bar, lounge, and dining room Guests commute by canoe or the camp pontoon boat. Wildlife viewing is by walks, game drives, baotin and anoeing. Game include black rhino, a high density of lion, elephant, bufalo, and a large herds of antelope. Activities aslo include fishing for the TIger Fish, Africa's best known sporting fish. |

| The
Mana Trails safari is a fully backed-up canoe and walking safari departing
from Ruckomechi and ending at Chikwenya. This safari traverses the
entire Mana Pools National Park shoreline. Extra nights can be booked
at Ruckomechi at the beginning or Chikwenya at the end
Itinerary Day 1 Charter flight from Kariba to Ruckomechi airstrip. Start with an 11km paddle downstream to Vundu Camp. Support staff will be waiting for the guests at Vundu having set up the large walk-in tents. On day two the support staff will break-down camp and drive ahead of the canoeists to set up the next overnight camp. Day 2 Awake at sunrise for coffee and biscuits followed by a three hour game walk into Mana Pools National Park. A full English breakfast awaits the guests back in camp. Paddle downriver until lunch at 1300. Following lunch a short siesta. At around 1500hrs continue down to Chessa Camp, some 21 Kilometers from Vundu Camp. Day 3 the routine is similar to day two except there is no game walk as this is the longest day of canoeing, some 38 kilometers will be covered today. Guest overnight at Acacia Camp. Day
4 After a full English breakfast drive back through Mana Pools National
Park Chikwenya. Either fly back to Kariba or else enjoy a night or
two at Chikwenya lodge.

Accommodation
in East African tents with proper beds, duvets, towels and toiletries are
suppplied. Warm bush showers and bush toilet set up each night.
The high standard of meals includes full "English" breakfast, picnic lunches, "sundowners" with hors d'ouvres and elegant 3 course dinners with wine and cordials. Fresh food and ice is provided daily from Ruckomechi Lodge. Departs
