Day 1: Nata – Makgadikgadi Pans

After breakfast at our hotel in Victoria Falls, we travel via the Kazangula border to Botswana.  An interesting drive to Nata gives us a perspective of Botswana’s wide-open spaces and characteristic bushveld.  We enjoy a picnic lunch en-route arriving at Nata in the late afternoon.  We then head out to explore the pans and enjoy our first Botswana sunset.

Day 2: Nxai Pan

Today we head due West to Nxai Pan’s national Park across the northern part of the Makgadikgadi.  In the evening we take a leisurely game drive in the vicinity of the waterholes and enjoy sunset with the animals as they come to drink.

Day 3: Nxai Pan

Once part of an ancient lake, this is a huge grass covered pan teeming with antelope species, all foraging on its sweet grasses.  As the sun rises over the pan we set out on a game drive in search of these species and the predators that stalk them.  We return to camp in time for brunch.  This evening we explore other areas of the pan.

Day 4: Maun

After a morning drive we say goodbye to this unique area and its wildlife.  A short drive to Maun and Riley’s Hotel, where it is timed to relax and restock.  An optional flight over the Delta is available.

Day 5: Okavango – Moremi Game Reserve

Today we set out for the Moremi Game Reserve which encompasses one third of the Okavango Delta, our destination Xakanaxa.  We arrive at lunchtime and relax in camp until our afternoon activity.  Visitors to this part of Moremi are stunned by the abundance and variety of wildlife in the areas.

Day 6: Okavango – Moremi Game Reserve

This morning we venture into the vast expanse of the Okavango Delta.  After an interesting boat ride through crystal clear channels, we arrive on an island to conduct a guided bush walk – one of the most fascinating aspects of our safari.  Lunch is served on a sandbank in the water.  Guests can also cool off at our safe swimming area.  After lunch and the final swim, the boat ride takes us back to our camp, adjacent to Xakanaxa lagoon.  Sunset is spent watching scores of herons, egrets and storks coming to roost at the heronries.

Day 7 & 8: Khwai – Moremi Game Reserve

We start our journey to Khwai from Xakanaxa by vehicle, on a game drive along the Khwai river floodplains to our camp near North Gate.  We spend the next two nights camping in the area.  Early morning and evening game drives deliver game viewing of the highest caliber.  Animals are attracted to the area by the waters of the Khwai River and predators such as lion, leopard and wild dogs are often spotted here.

Day 9 & 10: Savute – Chobe National Park

We travel by road via Mababe depression to Savute which is situated in south Western Chobe.  The area’s abundance of rocky hills and open, dry marshland makes for this stunning scenery.  We spend two nights camping in Savute and by vehicle we search for the wildlife that has made this area famous.  We visit the three man made waterholes in the area as well as the San bushman paintings hidden in the rocky outcrops.

Say 11 & 12: Serondela – Chobe National Park

We spend two nights at Serondela and game drives are conducted along the Chobe River and adjacent teak forest.  Serondela is elephant country and at certain times of the year the abundance of large game can sometimes be overwhelming.  Game viewing by boat adds to the spectacular diversity of this area.

Day 13 & 14: Victoria Falls

After a final game drive along the Chobe we once again head for the Kazungula Border post via the small town of Kasane.  We arrive at our hotel in Victoria Falls in time for lunch.  Then it is time for relaxing or shopping in town.  In the afternoon we visit one of the most breathtaking sights in the world – the might Victoria Falls.  An evening meal at a restaurant in town rounds of the day.  Our final morning we wake up at leisure and then after breakfast guests are transferred to the airport for connecting flights or onward arrangements.
